We are No Bad Weather® Academy

At No Bad Weather®, we believe the greatest lessons happen outside. Through year-round adventures, professional coaching, and unforgettable experiences, we help children build confidence, resilience, friendships, and a lifelong love for the outdoors.

What began as a small skateboarding program has grown into one of New York City’s most unique year-round outdoor sports clubs, offering progression in freeskiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, mountain biking, and outdoor exploration.

Founded in 2020 by former Slovenian National Team ski jumper Bostjan Brzin, NBW was created during the COVID pandemic when organized youth sports had largely come to a stop. Bostjan saw an opportunity to reconnect children with movement, nature, and adventure while creating a supportive community where every child could grow at their own pace.

Today, NBW is proud to be an official U.S. Ski & Snowboard Club, providing professional coaching from first-time participants through competitive athletes. Our programs are built around long-term athlete development, emphasizing strong fundamentals, creativity, confidence, and a genuine love for sport rather than early specialization.

Year-Round Academy

Our Indoor & Outdoor After-School Academy operates throughout the entire school year with Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters, giving children consistent opportunities to stay active, build skills, and progress alongside their friends.

Depending on the season, athletes participate in freeskiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, mountain biking, trampoline training, balance development, outdoor exploration, creative challenges, and adventure-based learning. Each semester naturally builds on the previous one, creating a fun and structured pathway for long-term development.

Year-Round Progression

NBW follows a year-round progression model that allows athletes to continue improving in every season.

• Fall – After-School Academy, skateboarding, mountain biking, dryland conditioning, and Big SNOW freestyle training.
• Winter – Indoor After-School Academy, Mountain Creek training, NBW Freeski & Snowboard Competition Team, weekend mountain adventures, and USASA competitions.
• Spring – Indoor & Outdoor After-School Academy, skateboarding, mountain biking, Big SNOW freestyle progression, and outdoor adventures.
• Summer – Little Kids Academy, Outdoor Academy, surfing, skateboarding, mountain biking, outdoor exploration, and adventure camps throughout New York City.

Whether a child is taking their very first lesson or competing nationally, every season contributes to their long-term growth as an athlete and as a person.

Beyond New York City

Some of our most memorable experiences happen far beyond New York.

Each year NBW organizes training camps and adventures throughout North America and Europe, giving young athletes the opportunity to experience world-class mountains, cultures, and coaching.

Our international programs include:

• Les 2 Alpes, France – Summer glacier freeski and snowboard training.
• Hintertux Glacier, Austria – High-altitude preseason freeski and snowboard training.
• European Ski Safari – An unforgettable journey through Slovenia, Austria, and Italy, exploring iconic alpine resorts, diverse cultures, and unforgettable mountain experiences.
• Additional freeski, snowboard, surfing, mountain biking, and outdoor adventure trips throughout Europe and North America.

These experiences build independence, friendships, confidence, and memories that last a lifetime.

More Than Coaching

At NBW, we’re building much more than athletes.

We teach responsibility, teamwork, leadership, independence, and respect for the mountains, oceans, parks, and trails where we play. Whether it’s helping a friend land their first skateboard trick, standing in the start gate of a competition, surfing a first wave, or exploring a new country, our goal is always the same—to help every child discover what they’re truly capable of.
