About NBW Winter Outdoor Academy

Make sure the winter season of 2024/25 will be a blast by enrolling in NBW Winter Outdoor Academy! Tailored for adventure-loving kids, this exceptional program delivers an unparalleled outdoor sports experience that blends convenience, excitement, and expert instruction. Our academy operates on the move, making it easy to access premier skiing and snowboarding sessions at Mountain Creek, alongside thrilling skateboarding activities at top locations. 🏂🏄‍♂️❄️

Every week, your child will engage in immersive sessions of skiing, snowboarding, and skateboarding, all led by experienced instructors in a supportive and fun environment.

Skiing & Snowboarding Academy

We offer ski and snowboard sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays:

• Tuesdays: Reserved for advanced skiers and snowboarders who confidently navigate black diamond slopes. Focus will be on mastering advanced techniques and honing skills in the terrain park/slopestyle.
• Wednesdays: This day is primarily for our Manhattan private school team. If you'd like to join, please reach out before—departure from the city is around 2:30 pm.
• Thursdays & Saturdays: Open to all skill levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced. No ski saturdays on Jan 18 and Feb 15.

Beginners:
We kick off at Big Snow in November, where a few private lessons are essential before joining our winter academy. These lessons equip your child with the skills needed to ski or snowboard independently, ensuring they're ready for our Thursday and Saturday sessions. For most NBW kids, some prior experience is common, so we highly recommend private lessons for beginners to help them avoid crowded bunny slopes once the season begins.

Advanced Groups:
Advanced skiers and snowboarders will refine their skills in the terrain park, while beginners and intermediates will focus on building confidence and mastering the basics.

Skiing and snowboarding spots are limited! This program operates on a drop-in basis, available on a first-come, first-served system. Priority is given to our regulars who participate year-round, not just during the winter season! If you're interested in a multi-week arrangement, we can create a custom semester package.

Mountain Creek sessions After-Ski Dinner Option (Weekdays Only):
On weekdays (excluding Saturdays), we offer dinner for kids after skiing before heading back to NYC. After an action-packed day, this gives them a chance to refuel and relax! The cost for dinner typically ranges from $6-10, payable after the session.

Skateboarding Sessions

Outdoor skateboarding will continue throughout the winter on Tuesdays and Fridays, taking advantage of fantastic parks near our new location. Our indoor skatepark guarantees fun, rain or shine! We provide all necessary skateboarding equipment (boards and pads), but kids should bring their own helmets.

  Skateboarding | 3 pm - 6 pm
• Wednesday: Ski & Snowboard | 2:30 pm - 9 pm
• Thursday: Ski & Snowboard (Intermediate) | 3 pm - 7 pm
• Friday: Skateboarding | 3 pm - 6 pm
• Saturday: Ski & Snowboard | 9 am - 3 pm

School Pick-up Options

We offer convenient pick-ups for our Outdoor Academy from 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm in Brooklyn and 3:15 pm in Manhattan. A minimum of 3 kids from the same school is required for pick-up.

Pricing Information

• 10-Session Package: $1,950
  For those who select their weekly days in advance, cancellation is free of charge until Saturday at noon for the following week. After that, sessions will be considered used, as we may fill the spot last minute.
• Additional Sessions (after 10): $175 per session
• Drop-in Session: $205
• Season Gear Rental: $250
• Private Lesson: $400 for one student (we recommend 2 to 3 lessons for total beginners). If you have two kids, we can arrange a joint lesson for $600.

We also offer the option to purchase gear at a great price for seasonal participants, allowing you to swap equipment for the following year. Reach out, and we’ll assist you with equipment needs!
