Outdoor Ski & Snowboard Academy — Winter 2027
Winter 2027 Outdoor Ski & Snowboard Academy
January 4 – March 26, 2027
Winter is mountain season at No Bad Weather®. Our Outdoor After-School Academy takes kids from New York City to Mountain Creek for consistent weekly freeski and snowboard training in small groups with professional NBW coaching.
The program is designed for kids who want to ski or snowboard regularly throughout the winter, build strong fundamentals, gain confidence on the mountain, and progress alongside the same group of athletes each week.
Winter Weekly Structure
Tuesday — Mountain Creek Ski & Snowboard
Weekly on-snow progression with groups organized by age and ability.
Wednesday — Mountain Creek Ski & Snowboard
Structured freeski and snowboard development for returning and approved NBW athletes.
Thursday — Mountain Creek Ski & Snowboard
Weekly mountain training focused on confidence, technique, terrain awareness, and progression.
What We Work On
- Freeski & snowboard fundamentals
- Carving and all-mountain skills
- Terrain awareness and mountain safety
- Freestyle progression when appropriate
- Confidence, independence & responsible mountain habits
- Small-group coaching and long-term progression
Transportation & School Pick-Up
Transportation from Brooklyn and Manhattan to Mountain Creek is included in the program structure. School pick-up may be available on select days for participating schools depending on daily routing, dismissal times, and group capacity.
Manhattan pick-up is also available on the West Side, from Lower Manhattan up to the Lincoln Tunnel. Exact pick-up locations and times will be confirmed with participating families before the semester begins.
Families interested in Winter placement should share their child’s school, age, ski or snowboard level, and preferred program day. Final transportation and school pick-up routes will be confirmed before the semester begins.
Who Is This For?
The Winter Outdoor Academy is for children who are ready for regular weekly mountain days and can participate safely within an NBW group. Placement is based on age, experience, ability level, group structure, transportation logistics, and overall program fit.
New families are welcome. NBW will help determine the most appropriate group before enrollment is confirmed.
What’s Included
- Round-trip transportation
- Professional NBW ski & snowboard coaching
- Weekly program planning and mountain logistics
- Small-group athlete development
- Equipment guidance and help arranging appropriate ski or snowboard gear before the season
All participants must arrive with their own properly fitted ski or snowboard equipment and helmet ready for each mountain day. NBW does not provide equipment for regular Winter Outdoor Academy days. We are happy to help families select and arrange the right gear before the season.
Families can discuss equipment, sizing, program placement, transportation, and other Winter questions with the NBW team in person at our Winter Open House on November 7.
Winter 2027 Enrollment
Winter registration will not open for public online sign-ups.
Due to high demand and limited capacity, Winter placements will be confirmed individually. Priority will be given to returning NBW families, followed by new families based on availability, age, ability level, group structure, transportation, and overall program fit.
Participation in a previous NBW program does not guarantee enrollment or placement in future programs.

WINTER OPEN HOUSE
NOVEMBER 7
Indoor After-School Academy • NBW Ski & Snowboard Club • Winter 2027
New and returning families interested in joining our Winter programs are invited to visit the NBW Academy Center, meet the team, see the space, and learn about our Indoor After-School Academy, NBW Ski & Snowboard Club, school pick-up options, and the best Winter program for your child.
New families are always welcome. We especially love welcoming families who discover NBW through our existing parent community, school communities, and word-of-mouth referrals. Those relationships have helped us build the close-knit, supportive NBW community we’re proud of, and the Open House is the perfect way for new families to get to know us before joining a program.
Due to high demand and limited capacity, Winter registration will not open for public online sign-ups. Registration options will be provided directly to approved families.
SKI & SNOWBOARD GEAR SALE
Our ski and snowboard gear must go! Open House families will have access to available NBW ski and snowboard equipment at prices significantly below typical seasonal rental costs. We want to support our NBW ski families even more by helping kids get properly equipped for winter at a great price. Available gear is limited and offered while supplies last.
Program Notes
NBW follows the school calendar and does not run regular after-school sessions during scheduled school holidays. Mountain schedules may also be adjusted when necessary because of weather, snow conditions, resort operations, transportation, or safety considerations.
